proposal for 2007 C&C 29 worlds/30th anniversary
Lets try to pick a date where we can get the most participation. First thought is before or after levels ? If the formula is good wind, and warm weather, looks like end of August may be good. Looking at the LYRA calendar, the weekends are filling up real quick as always, so I would prefer to set a date earlier than later, then we can talk it up... Maybe like this - To celebrate the 30th anniversary for the C&C 29's and the fleet that has hung together for so many years, this years C&C 29 worlds could be held at a neutral location, Oak Orchard. Like a DMZ Zone the safe area between East and West. We can contact them and see if we can tag on to one of their picnic events, or have our own at the T dock. But the thing would be to make it a must do event for 07. Could have things from C&C to hand out, etc. SO LETS START THE PLANNING - C&C owners lets start using this board as a discussion board, so we can make what we think about happen. John

interesting idea! John do you know Mark on True Colors at PYC? That might be a interesting place to have a event. We held the LOCCR First 235 regatta there last year. It is a real nice place to have a event.

Jon, I did mention it to Mark, Would hope that he joins us more in the Rochester Area events. This time since the "founders" of the fleet/association are all out of the YYC/NOTLSC, we wanted to meet somewhere close to half way from Rochester to the Niagara. That way we could encourage as many of the Niagara 29's to venture outside of the west end of the lake. So that is why we are looking at OOYC. Have not heard from the fleet as far as firming this date up, maybe some will add their comments here. Why did we pull the boats, there is plenty of sailing to had this "winter". John M

Pick the date, oops mean I wasnt just supposed to figure out a way to get us together and it would magically come together? We have at GYC 4ea 29-1's racing at another at the dock. RYC has 2ea 29-2's, PYC has 1 29-2. So as far as goes for the four needed. I'll start looking into some C&C support for C&C 29 worlds/30 yr celebration of the boats. Who wants to help organize?

Catchy title isn't it. I have contacted C&C and have started to hit them up for support, and plan to talk with Steve Haarstick also. they were two of our early supporters of getting the fleet started, as I hear from the storys of 1977, 1978 when the fleet was started and building its reputation of the longest standing largest active C&C one design class that I can think of, based on Levels participation over the last few years. Let the planning commence. Anyone want to chair the event?
