First 235 Lake Ontario Challenge Cup Regatta Pultneyville Yacht Club July 21st & 22nd, 2007 Notice of Race 1. Rules 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). Classes permitting Category C Advertising (see RRS Appendix 1) are urged to refrain from displaying advertisements for businesses or products competing with those of the primary and support sponsors of the event. 1.2 Crescent Yacht Club is the host club and will provide race management. 2. Personal Flotation Personal flotation shall be worn as required by class rules. For all other classes RRS 40 (the "Y" Flag Rule) may apply at the discretion on the Race Committee. 3. Eligibility 3.1 the regatta is open to Beneteau First 235’s only. The Organizing Authority reserves the right to accept entries that do not satisfy these requirements. 4. Entries Entrants shall meet eligibility requirements by per registration on or before July 13th 2007. Completed entry forms, with the entry fee, shall be mailed to Jon P. Flowerday 15 Meadow Dr. Webster, NY 14580-3432 Late entries may be accepted solely at the discretion of The Organizing Authority. Entry Fee: $50.00 US 5. Registration The boat owner or a boat representative must report to Crescent Yacht Club, Chamount Bay, NY, between 1700 hrs. and 2000 hrs. Friday, July 20th, to complete registration details. The skipper's meeting will be held at 0800 hrs Saturday July 21st. Crew lists and waivers of liability must be submitted at registration. No boat will be registered without a completed waiver form. In the event of a crew member substitution during the regatta, the new crew member must submit a signed waiver of liability to the Race Committee prior to racing for that boat's entry to remain valid. Sailing instructions will be available at Registration. Amendments to the Sailing Instructions will be posted at the Notice board located at the Crescent Yacht Club by 0830 hrs. Daily and it is the responsibility of each competitor to check the Official Notice Board for any amendments or other notices. 6. Course Courses will be sailed on Lake Ontario or Chamount bay. 7. Schedule of Races 7.1. It is the intent of the Organizing Authority and the Race Committee to run as many races as practical on Saturday, July 21st. No warning signal will be made after 1400 hrs. 7.2. It is the intent of the Organizing Authority and the Race Committee to hold one long distance race on Sunday July 22nd. 7.3. It is the intent of the Organizing Authority and the Race Committee to have one fleet, Run what ya brung! The harbor start is scheduled for 0830 hrs on each day of racing. 8. Measurement/Weigh-in Measurement is not required by the Organizing Authority or the Crescent Yacht Club, Any Beneteau First 235 series boats US made hull numbers 001 through 451 or EUR made Beneteau First 235 series Boats hull numbers 001 through 1000. This also includes any Liberty Series First 235’s or any First 23’s made in either the US or EUR. This includes all keel types, fin wing, swing or custom. 9. Scoring 9.1 The Low-Point Scoring System, RRS Appendix A4 will apply. Each boat's total score will be the sum of her scores for all races. One race will constitute a series. This alters RRS Appendix A. 9.2 All shall be scored without handicap. 10. Courtesy Broadcasts The Race Committee may provide general information to competitors on channel 9. 11. Arbitration There will be none of that! We are here to have fun! 12. Prizes Individual race and series prizes will be awarded by class (number will depend on number of class entries). For Lake Ontario Challenge Cup 2006, Division Prizes will be: • 3rd place overall • 2nd place overall • 1st place overall 13. Photographers and TV Rights Competitors give absolute right and permission for any photographs or video footage taken of themselves or their competing boat to be published in any media whatsoever; for either editorial or advertising purposes, or to be used in press information.
